She was later awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. Not many know that in 1969, Lata Mangeshkar, also known as India's Nightingale, gave up the Filmfare Best Female Playback Award in order to promote fresh talent. Heck, she's most likely to be the next generation's favourite singer as well. Rahmeshkar - doesn't that sound like a fit title for the Rahman-Mangeshkar team? Humour apart, Lata Mangeshkar's teaming up with the other genius, A R Rahman, re-introduced her to the present generation that lauds her songs.
